Quick Overview

Score and parts (Woodwind I/II, Woodwind II in Bb, Woodwind IV, Brass I/II in Bb, Brass III in F, Brass III in C, Brass IV, Timpani/Percussion, Piano, Choir ad lib., Violin I/ II/III, Viola, Violoncello/Double Bass)

: Orchestra

The so-called Winnetou melody, composed in 1964 by Martin Böttcher, forms the leading theme in the second part of the Winnetou film series. Due to its great success, countless cover versions were created afterwards.

In order to make the present version playable for as many ensembles as possible, many parts can be cast flexibly, e.g. Woodwind II can be played by both the flute and the oboe. Even with strings, the piece sounds complete; additional instruments will enrich the sound. The upbeat can also be played as a glissando and the melody can be supported by a harmonica.

The arrangement is relatively easy, the performance time is approx. 3 minutes.
